Underneath Education tab, click on Fun and Games

Do the riddles and definitions quiz
Complete the word search. Show Schachter
Read this poem by Emily Dickinson. Then answer the questions on the right.

I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there's a pair of us!
Don't tell! they'd advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one's name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

1.     WHO IS THE “THEY’D” IN LINE FOUR? WHY DOESN’T EMILY WANT THEM TO KNOW?

2.     HOW COULD BEING “SOMEBODY” BE “DREARY?”

3.     EXPLAIN HOW A FROG LIVES AND WHY EMILY WOULDN’T WANT TO BE LIKE IT.

In the box on the back of this paper, write a poem following the directions given.

Directions for poem
Begin with:

I’m _________________________, who are you?
Then tell a bit about being that thing.
Then tell a bit about what it would be like to be the opposite of that and why that would not be desirable.
Try and follow Dickinson’s poetry structure as closely as possible.
